To Create The City of La Jolla
  • By collaborating within our community and across the greater San Diego Area
  • By fostering our own growth and better supporting communities across San Diego
  • By supporting the beautification of our public areas for the benefit of our millions of visitors

Goal: To research feasibility, develop a strategy, educate the public and follow the process to create an autonomous City of La Jolla

Our Road So Far

Learning From The Past to Prepare for the future
  • Formed a Founders’ Board and created a 501(c)(6)
  • Conducted grassroots fundraising for initial fiscal analysis
  • Worked together to research the feasibility of cityhood for La Jolla
  • Informed residents of La Jolla and elected officials, while developing a program to gain support from City of San Diego residents and locals

Working closely With LAFCO

  • By collaborating within our community and across the greater San Diego Area
  • By fostering our own growth and better supporting communities across San Diego

Turning A New Leaf

Benefits for San Diego

  • Relieves San Diego of all costs and liability for La Jolla​
  • Receives alimony payments for a set period of time from La Jolla
  • Provides an income stream to San Diego through leased services for La Jolla
  • Add to San Diego's TOT and airport landings
  • Relieves San Diego of expenses for maintenance of coastline and beaches in La Jolla
  • Create broad economic uplift
